A carousel of my last few animations. Some are commissions and some are things I found amusing this one time.
Top 7 eggs in the CSIRO's national egg collection - Time-lapse painting and animation
A watercolour painting and animation of the 'Top 7' eggs from CSIRO's egg collection.
From CSIRO: "We collect eggs. Well, we collect all kinds of things but we do have 20,000 clutches of eggs in our National Wildlife Collection. So we've compiled a little animation of the 'top 5' for your enjoyment. Get eggs-cited!"
Interronauts Episode 10: Sampling the Abyss - blob fish, faceless fish, and 200 years of coal
Did some animated overlays for an Interronauts clip
What do you see when you go down 4,000 metres into Australia's eastern abyss and have a look around?
Fish without faces, fish that are blobs, muscle-less masses, all in complete anonymity — it's basically a masquerade party for the bottom of the ocean.
Here's an animated Interronauts snippet about 'Sampling the Abyss', the latest voyage of the RV Investigator led by Museums Victoria.

CSIRO pixel art celebration of 100 000 likes on Facebook, featuring Lee Lin Chin
Recently the CSIRO's Facebook page reached 100 000 likes. At the 50 000 mark, a year earlier, I had done a little animation on my iPad. Having a swanky graphics tablet and fun pixel art animation program, I was keen to do a little clip for the 100 K mark. At the time, my co-worker organised a fantastic campaign with Lee Lin Chin to bring in +30 000 fans to our page. This pixel art animation features the newscaster turned pop icon.
Slacks Creek Restoration Snapshot
Last year I worked on a project with the Logan City Council and the CSIRO to illustrate the process of restoring Slacks Creek, Logan City, Queensland.
I used transparent sheets of acetate and oil paints. I filmed the whole thing and compiled it as a time-lapse. This version is just the stills of five different paintings I did.
Stuff Science Can't Explain: Sloths
I’ve decided to experiment with animations for a while, here’s one of the first.
Rube Goldberg Trip
I bought a treadmill a week ago. It’s unnecessary pollution, but I feel very self-conscious going for a run on the street. I fell over.
Enigma moth time-lapse painting
An amazing, primitive moth was discovered on Kangaroo Island in South Australia. I did a time-lapse painting and animation.
From the CSIRO description: "It is less than 10mm long, but the aptly named ‘enigma’ moth recently discovered on Kangaroo Island in South Australia is causing quite a stir. Aenigmatinea glatzella – which has iridescent gold and purple wings – is a 'living dinosaur' that represents an entirely new family of primitive moths. This is the first time since the 1970s that a new family of primitive moths has been identified anywhere in the world."

Slacks Creek Restoration (Time-lapse Painting)
Last year I worked on a project with the Logan City Council and the CSIRO to illustrate the process of restoring Slacks Creek, Logan City, Queensland.
I used transparent sheets of acetate and oil paints. I filmed the whole thing and compiled it as a time-lapse. This here is a mighty-sped up version of the entire process, reducing it from over forty hours of work down to less than two minutes. The track is called Habitat from a local group named The Steve Hunter band.

Pixel art parrot boss
This is a boss I was working on a friends' video game. The boss for this particular 'world', was a part-woman, part-parrot enemy, who would fly around and shoot eggs at the player, and shite at the ground to melt away the floor. The project has been temporarily shelved.
